The next series is from a trip to Mt Field, in Tasmania, earlier this year. We stayed in huts near Mt Field West and did a few nice day walks from there. I managed to get out to the nearby lake one morning at dawn – very peaceful, with trout breaking the surface!
Mackereth Cottage
I haven’t been able to find a lot of info on this cottage, it is in the Scott Creek conservation park near Stirling and built in 1839 (I think). There seems to have been quite a bit of mining in this area at one point but it is all lovely bushland now with some great walks.
