Peoples Park

There’s a little park in Strahan that I haven’t seen before. A lovely short walk leads to a picturesque waterfall, but what interested me most was the tannin stained creek flowing through the rainforest, beside the path. As with yesterdays post I’ve taken similar pictures before but for me there is so much visual interest in the layers of light, shadow, reflection and transparency  that I’ll be taking more again.

Sheep & Sea

I just got back from another trip to Tassie, and tried to take some photos in between keeping our 1 year old son entertained on his first holiday!

I’ve taken similar photos before, but liked this version because of the sheep and the blue of the sea. It was a windy day so I didn’t have to wait too long for the clouds to cooperate and put a shadow where I wanted one.

Vines on a cliff

I took this shot of leaves and vines hanging down a cliff face at Belair National Park this weekend, on the waterfall trail. I know there’s a lot going on so I decided to process it as black and white to draw attention to the roots, leaves and shadows. On a side note I was very pleased as always with the 70-200 f4/L, which delivered a shot packed with detail! I think this will make a nice print.
